Power over Ethernet – PoE
Reprezinta modalitatea de alimentare a camerelor sau a altor echipamente IP, prin intermediul cablului de retea. Implementarea retelei se rezuma la un singur cablu, prin care este transmis semnalul de date cat si alimentarea echipamentului. Prin intermediul PoE, instalarea sistemelor de supraveghere devine mult mai simpla, mai sigura si mai putin costisitoare.
Viteza transfer
Gigabit Ethernet, o tehnologie de transmisie de date bazata pe formatul cadrului Ethernet si protocolul utilizat in retelele locale (LAN), ofera o rata de transfer de 1 miliard de biti pe secunda (un gigabit). Gigabit Ethernet este definit ca standardul IEEE 802.3 si este in prezent folosit in ulte retele de intreprinderi. Reteaua Gigabit Ethernet este realizata in principal pe fibra optica (cu distante foarte scurte pe suport de cupru). Intr-o retea Gigabit se pot alimenta si retelele Ethernet LAN deja existente de 10 sau 100 Mbps.
